Tri-Cities, WA Attorney John Bolliger is a fully-grounded Tri Citian: he grew up and attended schools in Richland (K-12, graduating in 1975), he previously practiced law in Pasco and, since 2000, he has practiced law in Kennewick.
After high school, John served a U.S. Navy enlistment as an Electronics Technician. He later worked for several years in the nuclear power plant construction/maintenance industry as an Electrical Construction Engineer.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (with a minor in Computer Science) in 1988 from the University of California at San Diego. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1991 from California Western School of Law, which also is located in San Diego.
LEGAL CAREER HISTORY
Criminal Prosecution: John prosecuted criminal defendants charged with misdemeanors and felonies while working for the San Diego County District Attorney’s office as a legal intern during law school and, later, as a law clerk.
Government and Teaching: John became a staff attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy. During that time, he served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in order to manage and defend litigation that had been commenced against the U.S. Department of Energy. While a staff attorney, he also taught Environmental Law courses (at the University of Idaho and Idaho State University extension campuses) to undergraduate and graduate Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering students.
Corporate Counsel: John served as a corporate counsel for Westinghouse Hanford Company and Fluor Daniel Hanford Company.
Private Practice: John began his private practice of law with a large, Seattle law firm practicing Intellectual Property law. Since 1997, he has been engaged in the private practice of law as a Tri Cities, WA Attorney providing services in Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, and West Richland, WA, as well as throughout Eastern Washington and Western Washington.
John is licensed to practice law in California (inactive) and Washington State (active). He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Washington State Bar Association. John is admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Washington and the Western District of Washington, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
John and his wife have two daughters and one grandson. He enjoys reading, gardening, walking for exercise, and spending time doing anything with his family.
